White Lodge is an imposing building within Richmond Park. The garden is a place for boarding ballet students to relax and let off steam, as well as being a space to impress visitors and prospective parents.
The design is based on the golden section: the divine proportion which inspired the palladian style of the building, and which also inspired perfection in ballet dancing itself. Evergreen sedges are used for low maintenance, stylish areas and soft planting has been created with deciduous grasses which move in the wind as gracefully as a ballet dancer.
