Profile

Rosie Nottage studied Botany at Manchester University and several mountain field trips later, graduated with a BSc Plant Science.

After 10 years spent in the media industry running a Construction, Media, Retail and Architecture conference business, she has returned to her first love of plants and retrained as a garden designer. During 2009 Rosie has studied at KLC school of design in Hampton Court learning about exciting plants to use in gardens, materials and how to specify them, construction techniques that ensure a well built and long lasting garden and contract administration on large build projects. Practicals studying perennials through the year and horticultural best practice have all been in the beds of Hampton Court.

During 2009 Rosie won a competition to create a planting area at Chelsea Flower Show; designing, sourcing and planting a small bed for Design Nation. Rosie has also worked in horticultural maintenance for the Botanical Gardener and spent a week at Hardy’s Cottage Garden Plants learning about propagation and plant care in a commercial nursery.

Rosie graduated with honours from KLC and was awarded the Professionalism award, and the Best Design for a Hampton Court accessible sensory garden; a project currently seeking funding to be constructed in 2012.
