Site
Grade-listed crescent townhouse house; with many levels to negotiate.
Brief
Our client is a property developer who wanted to create an elegant garden to suit the full renovating throughout the house. We needed the garden to resolve the changes in level, look great from inside the house, use site won materials and create a dining area in a very steep site.
Response / Design
We removed existing steps and walls and used site won bath stone to reform them with curved retaining walls and more generous steps. Working alongside the architects and local blacksmiths we designed railings to make the garden safe as well as beautiful and created an oval dining terrace which could have an outdoor kitchen added later by the new owners. Planting was very simple and low cost, allowing the new owners to put their own stamp on the garden. The property sold very quickly.
