Our client is creating a once in a lifetime grand design renovation to make a contemporary timber clad home.
Brief
To respond to a bold architectural language with a landscape that balances structure and softness.
Response / Design
We are designed floating concrete steps that wrap around the house, tracing its edges and guiding movement through levels. Space open up; an outdoor dining area with carefully detailed balustrades to echo the house and bold tropical planting to balance its mass. Planting is used with confidence, drawing on bolder, more architectural forms to sit alongside the building. Beyond this, the landscape loosens over several levels; into orchard, meadow and open ground, with additional elements; a pool and yoga studio, which are held within the wider composition.
