Project Description

The garden was neglected and overgrown, with a build up of soil around the edges.  My clients were using the centre of the garden as a seating area as the plants had overtaken the rest of the space.  The side return was a generous size and filled with York stone paving which had sunk.  We renovated and relaid the paving, and created a chunky pergola next to the house which accomodates an eating area, a BBQ, a storage shed with a herb garden roof and room for a wisteria to climb.  This allowed a much larger lawn area.  Bricks on edge and brick setts were used to create a child friendly edge, retaining the soil and allowing a mower easy access around the newly planted beds.  Planting is low maintenance with a small lavender hedge around a new sunbathing deck.
